Sequel of the The Genuine Housewives of Orange County Reunion began with Braunwyn Windham-Burke breaking down and sobbing.
When challenged with her previous actions, she provided a tearful and complete apology.
Kelly Dodd does not take criticism well, at all.
When Kelly was confronted with her errors from months previously, she lashed out at everybody and everything, desperately decrying “cancel culture.”
” Kelly, it was so frustrating to see you call protesters looters,” Andy Cohen read a carefully worded review from a fan at the Reunion unique.
” As a Mexican-American,” the fan concern asked, “don’t you believe you have a responsibility to stand with your fellow marginalized communities?”
For the record, Kelly likewise went on Instagram to see video footage of the historic BLM protests and brand name them as “terrorism in America.”
” Listen, I do not have anything with objecting … Tranquil demonstrations– I’m everything about it,” Kelly declared.
Keep in mind, 93% of the Black Lives Matter protests from last summer season were tranquil.
The minority that were violent were usually a direct reaction to police escalation. That didn’t stop Kelly.
” However that was on a whole other level that I saw in New York,” Kelly declared, echoing widely mocked statements by The View villain Meghan McCain.
” There was looting,” she grumbled. “There was burning down buildings and I don’t think that’s the method to protest.”
( Fun truth: protests intensifying to residential or commercial property damage has a history going back millennia– and in 2020, some of those demonstrations ended up being the most efficient and prompting genuine change)
They then explored Kelly’s unappetizing decision to wear a “Drunk Partners Matter” hat at her bridal shower.
The hat was a present, it was a stupid pun, and Kelly could probably have excused picking to share the photo and just carried on … if her whole year had not had plenty of malice and oversights.
Kelly protected it, and Elizabeth Lyn Vargas suggested that it was an innocent gaffe.
Kelly had to go on and play the victim, using one of the most obnoxious and worthless phrases out there: “cancel culture.”
” I wasn’t being harmful and I get assaulted by this cancel culture,” Kelly whined.
She complained her critics “that’s a lot of haters that would never have any voice and here they are getting together and [coming] after me.”
” It’s not just haters though,” Braunwyn Windham-Burke quietly and politely mentioned.
” It’s individuals who have actually been oppressed,” she explained, including that a lot of them have been finding their voices.
Kelly did not wish to listen, so she decided to reach for every racist’s preferred line– I’m not racist, I have Black friends
” 4 of my best friends are African-American and they didn’t take offense,” Kelly screamed. Yikes.
The entire cast made the most uncomfortable faces, as you can see in the clip. She firmly insisted: “It’s white individuals who did!”
Certainly, even if we believe Kelly’s claim about her friends, nobody individual– or four people– speak for an entire race.
And the hat thing was the least of her misdeeds in 2020.
Other fans questioned why Kelly would have a wedding event at all throughout a pandemic. Either get married independently or postpone up until the pandemic ends.
As you can envision, Kelly dealt with that like she manages all criticism: inadequately.
” However it’s okay to protest?” Kelly interjected. “Everybody can have a protest and be among a billion individuals? I can’t have a celebratory wedding?”
A number of things about the BLM protests: One, they were outside and masked occasions, and none of them were superspreader events.
Two, opposing versus violence, murder, oppression, and systemic racism is an vital activity Wedding events can be special occasions, but they are not essential activities.
At one point during the reunion, Kelly exclaimed “I’M BLACK.”
She later on discussed that she did 23 andMe to learn that she– by her own account– has Black, Asian, Mexican, Spanish, and Native American origins.
As if to remind everyone, she said the hazardous “I do not see color” line, which enormously misses out on the point whenever. Common Kelly.
However we expect that congratulations remain in order for Kelly getting 4 Black buddies, because that’s a huge step up from five years earlier.
In 2016, she infamously said on video camera that she did not “like Black men,” adding “I don’t even know any Black people.”
And Kelly is just being horrible.
