Instagram‘s algorithm is responsible for deciding the most relevant posts to show in your feed, according to your tastes and preferences. However, that could be about to change! The website WABetaInfo released this Thursday (9) a new feature that is being tested on the social network: Favorites.
Identified by mobile developer Alessandro Paluzzi, the tool allows the user to mark as “favorites” accounts that would have their content prioritized in the order of the feed and stories. According to Paluzzi, the “favorites” will not be notified when they are added or removed from someone’s list.
Difference between Best Friends and Favorites
Unlike the “Best Friends” feature, where you can post exclusive content to a selected list of followers, the new tool will change what the feed shows first, depending on your favorite accounts on the network.
According to Paluzzi, the feature is under development and does not have a release date yet. Other features should soon arrive on the social network, such as the famous “drag up” link — which is gradually shifting to stickers in stories.
Other news that may arrive soon are the option to enjoy stories and the new search, currently tested on Android devices, which will present images and videos in the search results.
